Why solar power makes sense for your business

Solar power is now consistently the lowest-cost source of new electricity generation in India. For commercial and industrial consumers, the opportunity is straightforward, buy power from a solar plant at a fixed tariff that is significantly below your current DISCOM rate, with no capital investment required on your side.

The financial case is compelling. DISCOM tariffs in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh have risen consistently over the past decade and show no sign of stabilising. A fixed-price solar PPA effectively locks in your electricity cost for the tenure of the agreement, turning a variable, unpredictable operating expense into a known, budgetable line item that directly improves your operational margins and makes your business more competitive.

Good Energies supplies solar power through two structures, open access and group captive. Both deliver meaningful savings over grid power. The right choice depends on your consumption profile, commercial objectives, and appetite for structure.

Two ways to buy solar power from us

Open Access Solar

The straightforward path. You sign a PPA with Good Energies, we supply solar power from our plants through the grid at a fixed tariff below your current DISCOM rate. No equity stake, no ownership, no complexity beyond the PPA itself. Best suited for consumers seeking simplicity, flexibility, and a faster path to savings.

Typical saving: 25–40% on your per-unit electricity cost in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh.

Group Captive Solar

The higher-saving structure. You hold a defined equity stake in our generating entity, making you eligible for exemption from Cross Subsidy Surcharge and Additional Surcharge. The result is a significantly lower landed cost of power compared to standard open access. Best suited for consumers seeking maximum long-term savings and comfortable with a slightly more structured arrangement.

Additional saving from CSS/AS exemption: ₹1.30–₹1.95 per unit over and above open access savings.
